The worldwide standard for compact walkalong trenchers, the Ditch Witch 1030 is designed for residential and short-run commercial service line work including gas, water, sewer, electric and communications lines requiring trenches up to 6 inches (150 mm) wide and 30 inches (760 mm) deep.

*Digging chain choices include standard cup-tooth and optional mining bit or Shark Chain, which features welded-on teeth for maximum performance in extreme conditions.
*An axle lock engages both drive wheels for maximum trenching traction, or frees one wheel for easier maneuvering.

*Ground drive gearbox is integrated with hydraulic motor, eliminating mounting and coupling parts.
*Spoil auger has a new heavy-duty design and is tapered for easier rock clearing.
*Drive axles are tapered for longer life.
*Digging boom's greasable bronze pivot bushing is a Ditch Witch Exclusive that promotes trouble-free service.
*Outboard bearing support (optional) for greater digging drive strength.

*User-friendly wrap-around handlebars.
*Controls are color-coded and placed with easy reach of the operator's position.
*Improved operator presence system. When operator releases bail lever on handlebars, digging chain stops, but engine keeps running.
*Digging boom raises and lowers hydraulically.
